National Solo Competition
The National Solo Competition is a Contest sponsored by American String Teachers Association (ASTA) with National School Orchestra Association.

Amount of Contest: Minimum: $500, Maximum: $4500
Application Deadline: 15-Nov
Requirements: Applicant must be an ASTA member or a current student of an ASTA member and must perform a required work or works and other pieces. The junior division is open to students below 19 years of age; the senior division is open to students of 19-25 years of age.

Your best chance of achieving your goal comes from finding out the requirements from the start and then determining if you qualify. Before you even begin, be aware of the potential motivations of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) with National School Orchestra Association and what they hope to achieve with the National Solo Competition. Once that is done, verify that there is a reasonable chance of actually getting the contest. If you think that there is a good chance of actually being one of the winners of the National Solo Competition, then you should put forth the effort to apply.
