Naturalist Intern
The Naturalist Intern is a Internship sponsored by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
Award Information:
Amount of Internship: Living space, $200 per week stipend
Application Deadline: Three months prior to start of session
Requirements: Preference given to applicant with strong background in natural history and/or education. Recipient will take on the role of environmental education staff. Opportunities for training and development of specific skills will be available depending on recipient's interests and the needs of the center. Internships available at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center in Delmar, N.Y., Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne, N.Y., and Stony Kill Farm Environmental Education Center in Wappingers Falls, N.Y.
Eligibility: College sophomore, College junior, College senior, Master's-level study, Other postgraduate-level study

You should always carefully examine the background of the internship. Getting the greatest odds of achieving your goal is a result of first understanding the qualifications and knowing if you fulfill them. At the outset try to recognize the reason for involvement of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and their reason for offering the Naturalist Intern. If you meet the requirements, make sure there is any likelihood of actually getting the internship. Once you believe that you have a decent shot of actually being a recipient of the Naturalist Intern, then you should fill out an application.
A vital detail of applying for the internship is properly completing the forms. Some forms are time consuming and laborious, but take the time to make sure that you fill out the application properly and in its entirety. Pay careful attention so that you won't miss out because of some minor point.
After filing, you should note when the Naturalist Intern chooses a winner and makes payment of the resources in order to stay informed about if it is possible to rely on the internship to help meet any bills associated with your education and how it will help you out, stipulations may exist on what expenses are covered by the Naturalist Intern. Recently it has become more burdensome to take care of the increasing costs of education, and obtaining the Naturalist Intern to assist with your expenses can make things much easier. If you are not fortunate to receive the Naturalist Intern, try not to be upset, there are other internships that you can hopefully get.
