It is important to search for available information on the grant. A maximized likelihood of success will follow from first understanding the qualifications and knowing if you fulfill them. Prior to starting, identify the reason for involvement of the Sam Houston State University and what they hope to achieve with the New Horizons Grant. Once that is done, figure out if you have the possibility to obtain the grant. Once you believe that you have a decent shot of going on to be a recipient of the New Horizons Grant, then it is worth it to use your time.
