Amount of Stipend: Average: $3500
Application Deadline: 1-Nov
Requirements: Applicant must be a New York resident or attend a college in New York State, and must have a minimum grade average of C+. Recipients attend Assembly sessions, committee meetings, public hearings, and research proposed legislation and constituent problems. Colleges often award a semester's credit for in partication.

Before you even begin, try to recognize the driving force for the New York State Assembly and their goals for the Session Internship. If you meet the requirements, verify that there is the possibility to receive the stipend. Once you believe that you have the possibility of going on to be a recipient of the Session Internship, then it is worth it to put forth the effort to apply.

An important part of working toward obtaining the stipend is filling out the application correctly. Occasionally the process can be long and tiresome, but take the time to make sure that you fill out the application properly and completely. It would be awful to lose out as the result of something that could have been avoided.
