USREY Family Scholarship

Amount of Scholarship: Minimum: $1000, Average: $1000, Maximum: $2000
Application Deadline: April 1 of each year
Requirements: Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate landscape horticulture program or related discipline at a two or four-year institution. Students in vocational agriculture programs will also be considered. Applicants must be currently enrolled in good standing and carry a full-time course load at the time of application and during the semesters for which the scholarship is granted. Applicant must have a minimum grade point average overall of 2.25 based on a scale of 4.0, and a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a scale of 4.0 in their major. The applicant must be a student enrolled in a California state university or college. California state residency is not required. Preference will be given to applicants who plan to work within the industry (including nursery operation, landscape architecture/design/construction/maintenance, interiorscape, horticultural distribution, retail garden center) following graduation. Previous Usrey Family Scholarship award winners are eligible for additional funding. Students must apply by April 1. The application must include a cover letter, resume official transcripts and two letters of recommendation.
