It is important to spend time looking into the latest information on the scholarship. A maximized likelihood of obtaining money is a result of first understanding the qualifications and making sure you meet them. A good first step is to seek to understand the potential motivations of the Wheeling Jesuit University and their goals for the Dean's Award. After making sure you satisfy the prerequisites, you should determine if you have the possibility of being awarded the scholarship. If you think that there is a good chance that you can be awarded the Dean's Award, then it is worth it to put forth the effort to apply.
An important aspect of working toward obtaining the scholarship is properly completing the forms. Some forms are lengthy and laborious, but you shouldn't underestimate how important it is that you fill out the application correctly and completely. Use caution to insure that you will not get passed over as the result of something that could have been avoided.
Once the application is sent off, figure out the timeframe regarding when the Dean's Award confers the award and makes payment of the money so that you can know if it is possible to rely on the scholarship to provide additional support for your financial needs and its personal usefulness, as there may be restrictions on what expenses are covered by the Dean's Award. Increasingly, it is tough to find ways to handle the expenses associated with school, and having the additional resources of the Dean's Award to defray some of the costs can be a huge help. If you don't end up getting the Dean's Award, keep at it, there are other scholarships that you can hopefully get.
