A good place to start is to spend time looking into the background of the grant. The best shot of achieving your goal comes from initially researching the prerequisites and then determining if you qualify. Prior to starting, seek to understand the particular aims of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and their goals for the Research Grant. If you meet the requirements, figure out if there is the possibility to receive the grant. If you think that you have a decent shot that you can be one of the winners of the Research Grant, then you should fill out an application.

An important aspect of applying for the grant is filling out the application correctly. Some forms are lengthy, but it is absolutely critical that the forms are filled out correctly and completely. Avoid mistakes that might make you lose out because of some minor point.

Once the application is sent off, it's important to know when the Research Grant confers the award and makes payment of the money so you'll be aware of whether or not you can rely on the grant to help meet the expenses associated with school and its personal usefulness, since there might be constraints on how you can use the Research Grant. Recently it has become more burdensome to find ways to take care of the increasing costs of education, and having the additional resources of the Research Grant to help with your financial aid can provide significant support. If you don't end up getting the Research Grant, don't give up, there are other grants and you may find success elsewhere.
