A good place to start is to search for any material provided for the fellowship. Your best chance of success can be attained by finding out the requirements from the start and then determining if you qualify. At the outset be aware of the potential motivations of the American Indian Graduate Center and what they hope to achieve with the Fellowship Program. Once that is done, make sure there is a decent shot of actually getting the fellowship. If you think that you have the possibility that you can be a recipient of the Fellowship Program, then you should put forth the effort to apply.

One critical detail of applying for the fellowship is paying close attention to the application. Applications can sometimes be long and laborious, but you shouldn't underestimate how important it is that the forms are filled out correctly and thoroughly. Pay careful attention so that you won't lose out as the result of something that could have been avoided.

Once the application is sent off, you should note when the Fellowship Program chooses a winner and actually dispenses any funds in order to stay informed about if it is possible to count on the fellowship to provide additional support for the expenses associated with school and how it will assist with your future, since there might be constraints on what expenses are covered by the Fellowship Program. Increasingly, it is tough to find ways to handle all of your financial needs, and having the additional resources of the Fellowship Program as a supplement to your own resources can be a huge help. Even if you don't obtain the Fellowship Program, try not to be upset, you can find different fellowships and your persistence may be rewarded.
