Central Europe Research Scholar Program

The Central Europe Research Scholar Program is a Grant sponsored by ACTR/ACCELS.

Award Information:

Amount of Grant: Minimum: $3500, Average: $5050, Maximum: $11500, International and domestic airfare, book stipend, housing, monthly maintenance stipend, and academic affiliation
Application Deadline: January 15, October 1
Requirements: Award is for individual research opportunities in the Baltics, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, or Slovakia. Selection is based upon the research proposal, need for in-country resources, letters of recommendation, and language proficiency. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with advanced knowledge of the host country's language. Applicants must submit a research proposal of 1,000 words, an agreement and a release form, a medical evaluation, two letters of recommendation, a curriculum vitae in both English and the language of the host country, and a financial need statement. Three competitions per year.

A good place to start is to thoroughly research the latest information on the grant. Getting the greatest odds of achieving your goal will follow from finding out the requirements from the start and knowing if you fulfill them. Prior to starting, seek to understand the potential motivations of the ACTR/ACCELS and what they hope to achieve with the Central Europe Research Scholar Program. If you meet the requirements, verify that you have the possibility of being awarded the grant. Upon determining that there is a good chance that you can be awarded the Central Europe Research Scholar Program, then it is useful to fill out an application.
