First Cavalry Division Association Scholarship

The First Cavalry Division Association Scholarship is a Scholarship sponsored by Foundation of the First Cavalry Division Association.

Amount of Scholarship: Average: $800
Requirements: Applicant must be the child of a soldier who died while serving in the First Cavalry Division, during and since the Vietnam War or during Desert Storm. If the death occurred between March 1, 1980 and August 2, 1990 or after May 1, 1991, the scholarship is offered only if the deceased parent was a member of the Association and serving with the First Cavalry Division at time of death. Also eligible are the children of a soldier who has been declared 100% disabled from injuries incurred while serving with the First Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War or Desert Storm. Applicant can also be the child or grandchild of a First Cavalry Division soldier, USAF, FAC, AIE pilot, or war correspondent who served in a designated qualifying unit which was involved in the battle of the Ia Drang Valley during the period of March 19 through November 1965. Applicant must also send a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and request for additional information and application.
