Part-Time Study Grant

The Part-Time Study Grant is a Grant sponsored by Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.

Award Information:

Amount of Grant: Maximum award: 85% tuition plus fees
Application Deadline: within 60 days of completion of semester
Requirements: Applicant must be a Wisconsin resident and a veteran with two years of active-duty service, 90 days of wartime service, or other active-duty service in conflicts or peacekeeping missions. Applicant must be attending a Wisconsin school part time (11 credits or fewer). Courses taken must be related to the applicant's occupational, professional, or employment objectives.Applicant with a bachelor's degree may be eligible if enrolled for eight credits or less and if he or she does not have remaining veteran's benefits. Spouses and dependents of deceased veterans may be eligible. Part-time applicant attending out-of-state schools within 50 miles of the Wisconsin border may be eligible if the course is not offered in Wisconsin within a 50-mile radius of applicant's residence. Out-of-state correspondence courses may qualify if the course is not offered at a Wisconsin school. Applicants with a master's degree are ineligible.

You should always check out available information on the grant. A maximized likelihood of achieving your goal will follow from first understanding the qualifications and making sure you meet them. Prior to starting, figure out the driving force for the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs and what they hope to achieve with the Part-Time Study Grant. If you meet the requirements, figure out if you have a decent shot of actually getting the grant. Upon determining that you have a decent shot of actually being awarded the Part-Time Study Grant, then it is useful to use your time.

An important aspect of applying for the grant is paying close attention to the application. Occasionally the process can be time consuming and boring, but take the time to make sure that the forms are filled out accurately and without omission. It would be awful to get passed over on a technicality.
