You should always check out any material provided for the grant. Your best chance of success will follow from initially researching the prerequisites and knowing if you fulfill them. At the outset try to recognize the reason for involvement of the Seattle University and what they hope to achieve with the Regent's Award. After making sure you satisfy the prerequisites, figure out if there is the possibility to receive the grant. If you think that there is a good chance of actually being a recipient of the Regent's Award, then it is useful to use your time.

An important aspect in the process of trying for the grant is filling out the application correctly. Applications can sometimes be drawn-out and tedious, but you shouldn't underestimate how important it is that you fill out the application accurately and completely. Avoid mistakes that might make you be denied because of some minor point.

Once the application is sent off, you should note when the Regent's Award chooses a winner and actually dispenses any funds in order to stay informed about if it is possible to rely on the grant to assist with the expenses associated with school and how it will assist with your future, stipulations may exist on how you can use the Regent's Award. If you are not fortunate to receive the Regent's Award, keep at it, there will be alternative grants and you may find success elsewhere.
